The 16 Toledo Hawks team is also taking part in the Toledo City Baseball League this summer, participating in the NABF 16u Junior Division.

At this point of the season the Hawks are in the drivers seat with no losses. The Hawks look to take the league and qualify for the NABF World Series, which takes place in Toledo this year.

It has been a fine season so far in the league with Zach Brown, Jude Neary, Scott Toland and Alex Heban hitting well. Thomas Friar, Jared Schriner, Joe Dandino, and Zach Wambold have been standouts on defense.

In season good outings this season, Ian Andres, Sean Killian, and Joey Parker has pitched very well.

If the Hawks continue to stay hot in league play, they will have the division wrapped up very soon. They currently have 5-0 record.

The 16u Hawks program took part in the Ultimate Strike Zone tournament at Central Michigan University over the 4th of July Holiday. The Hawks played some very good ball and had victories over the Traverse City 131's  4 - 2, Lincoln Park Rails 12 - 5, and the Motor City Hit Dogs 5 - 1.  The Hawks finished with a 3 - 1 record in the tourney.
Several players hit well in the tourney, including  Zach Wambold (Central Catholic), Thomas Friar (Monroe Jefferson),  Alex Heban (Central Catholic), Jared Schriner (Maumee), and Joe Dandino (Central Catholic).  Also, Ian Andres (Bedford), Jake Flom (St Francis) and Austin Hazard (Maumee) pitched well.
In going  3 - 1 in the tourney the Hawks did very well against some of the best teams in the region.  In a pivotal game against a very good Motor City Hit Dogs team, Sean Killian pitched extremely well and held them to 1 run.   Jude Neary did a fine job behind the plate, managing the pitchers and keeping baserunners in check during the tourney.

After reaching the mid-point to the 2014 Hawks season, the Toledo Hawks are in the top spot of the Toledo Federation League. Riding a 7-0 record during the regular season gives the birds a clear shot at the automatic bid into the NABF World Series. While struggling from time to time in the Tri-State League, the Hawks are still in a competitive spot to reach the Tri-State League Tournament which will be held at Kent State University. Leading the way to the Hawks success has been strong pitching performances across the board. Trevor Blaylock (Bowling Green) has been the most consistent who has a 4-0 record and is posting a 1.89 ERA. Other solid performances from young hurlers Drew Lepiarz (Lourdes), Matt Olsavsky (Lourdes) who are both 2-0, have tremendously helped the Hawks. Leading the Hawks on offense are Victor Diaz (Lourdes), Luke Hickey (Bluffton), and Dustin Peper (Bowling Green); who are all hitting above the .350 mark on the season. Timely hits and sloppy defense at times have cost the Hawks many games in the young Tri-State season. With the half-way point past, the Hawks are looking to make a run to get into the Tri-State tournament. The Hawks will be in action Friday (12 p.m.), Saturday (3 p.m.), and Sunday (1 p.m.) all taking place at Mercy Field. #hawksflyhigh

On Friday June 13th, opening day of the Nations tourney in Bowling Green, the 16u Hawks faced Bobcat baseball.

The Hawks came out hitting the cover off the ball, many players reached base safely and the Hawks mercy ruled them 12-1. Later in the day on Friday the Hawks faced the Ohio Dynasty. In a back and forth game, the Dynasty came from behind and defeated the Hawks 10 -8.

The second day of the tourney, the Hawks were scheduled to face the Ohio Surge, which proved to be a very good team, but the Hawks were able to defeat them 7-5. At this time, the teams were seeded for bracket play and the Hawks were set to face the Ohio Dynasty once again. This time, they were victorious with a last at bat come from behind victory 8 -7. This was good enough to get them into the semi-finals on Sunday.

Sunday, the Hawks opened the day playing the top seed in the tourney, the Ohio Surge. They had to play them once again. It was a close, well pitched game, but the Hawks lost 4 to 1. The Hawks ended up finishing 3rd in the tourney. The Ohio Surge won the tourney, with their only loss being to the Hawks.
